AGM  Thursday 24 November 2022

First of all a date for your diary – Ashbrook’s AGM will take place at 8pm on Thursday 24 November in the clubhouse.  As most of you are aware we weren’t able to host the AGM in person during 2020 and 2021 so this is a very welcome return.  We really look forward to seeing lots of you there.

It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a lot of members to keep a club thriving …!

Ashbrook is run by a committee which has a minimum of nine people who all do this on a voluntary basis.

At present the committee is:

President / Chairperson jim Salisbury

Secretary: Alison MacDonald

Treasurer:  Niall Humphreys

Ladies Captain:  Denise Lynch

Gents Captain:  Andrew Ryan

Juniors Management:  Vacant

Bar and Club Housekeeping:  Marguerite Ryan

Events and Marketing:  Dolores Molloy, Brian Bohill,  Clare Lynch

Also, Steven Vaughan looks after Facilities and Hilary Frazer and Brian Bohill are our Child Protection Officers.

We have decided to split the role of President / Chairperson again and are grateful that Jim will continue as President    Over many years he has worked for the benefit of the club and we think he deserves a bit of a break.  We are indebted to him for all his hard work.    However, this means we are looking for a Chairperson.

Our Treasurer, Niall Humphreys as well as Dolores Molloy and Clare Lynch plan to step down.  Again we are very appreciative of the commitment not to mention the time they have put into Ashbrook.

The commitment with regard to meetings is a minimum of one committee meeting a month.

With regard to the new Treasurer – ideally somebody with a little bit of a financial background who is happy to deal in numbers!  Niall has set up a great system and he will take you through it.  If you think this is of interest he would be happy to expand a little on what is involved.

We are looking for a Junior Officer – this role has been vacant for the last year.  Ideally this would suit a parent or somebody who has juniors involved in the club. Clare Lynch has done this role previously and is happy to talk to anybody who might be interested.

We are also looking for maybe another two people to go on the committee.  You don’t have to take up a specific role but there may be things you are interested in.

We would really love to get some new faces on our committee and would urge you all to think about it especially if you have been a member for at least a year.   As you can see we have lots of vacancies and want to try and add some new faces.

If you want any information on any of the roles please don't hesitate to contact any of the committee members.

We will be sharing the nomination forms in the next day or two.

We all need to keep our great club great and put some new energy into it.

Please consider getting involved.

Alison
