The Tennis committee presents Spring 2015 : Revenge of the Spring Championships.
The draw was revealed in a lavish ceremony at Social Tennis this morning (fantastic turnout on a beautiful morning) and all the draws are available in the club house and online on our Forms Page
Payments :
If you haven’t paid for Spring Competitions yet you can do so via our new Payments and Subscriptions page
Simply choose how many events you want to pay for and follow the instructions. All you need is your email address and a credit / debit card. All payments are again handled by Stripe and are safe and secure. If you have any questions or problems just drop me an email and I’ll help out.

Draws :
Singles Draw and Plate :
Singles features a plate for Gents and Ladies. In order to get this started we’d like everyone to play the 1st round matches in week one so we can arrange the Plate Draws next Sunday (another lavish unveiling ceremony…). So if you didn’t get a bye into Round 2 please arrange to your match this week.
Note that results and ladder position rewards from the recent Box League have been taken into account and have changed some seedings.
Gents and Ladies Doubles :
Both of these events are Box Leagues with 4 or 5 matches. So start playing them ASAP. Please don’t rely on your partner to make contact and get the ball rolling, so drop them a text, arrange a night and choose a victim to play. You’ll need to start playing this week to fit them all in. If you are away for a week then play a match or two before you go. Avoid walkovers, they make me cry.
Mixed Doubles :
There will be a wee plate for this event, but you have two weeks before it is drawn. So play round 1 matches this week or next.
Chart Stewards :
A member of the Tennis Committee is the Steward for each event, as noted on the draw sheets. If you have any questions, difficulties or disputes please refer to them.
Finals :
In order to fit all the matches in we’ll be splitting the Finals into two evenings, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd April. The bar will be open both evenings so everyone is encouraged to come along to cheer/jeer (delete as appropriate). The timetable for finals is :
- Ladies Singles Final : Wednesday 22nd
- Ladies Singles Plate Final : Wednesday 22nd
- Gents Doubles Final : Wednesday 22nd
- Gents Singles Final : Thursday 23rd
- Gents Singles Plate Final : Thursday 23rd.
- Ladies Doubles Final : Thursday 23rd
Mixed Final and Mixed Plate final to be decided depending on what evening suits the finalists best.
Prizes :
Prizes will be vouchers for Martin Evans tennis shop, eternal glory and in the case of Singles the Singles Ladder will be adjusted after the finals. New ladder positions will be based on what round you reach firstly and your current ladder position (Club #1 is unaffected as normal). Once the dust has settled you’ll also have a week afterwards to issue Ladder Challenges in order to get yourself into a position to play Singles in Summer League.
Prizes will be presented on both evenings after all finals have been completed.
